Wath Festival

"50 years of Music, Arts and Community Events begun in 1973 by Wath Morris, Wath Festival has gone from strength to strength. From headline acts and household names to encouraging local and unknown artists it is a three day celebration of music and arts.
2023 sees the 50th anniversary of this well loved community festival. "

My first time at this event, and such a great atmosphere. Everyone's
favourite part must be the 'bun' throwing when following the reading of Thomas Tuke's will, a wealthy resident from the 18th century, the procession makes its way to the church, where bread rolls are thrown out into the crowd, a tradition carried out following a bequest by him to distribute loaves to the needy...lots of extras if you have time.....the reading of the will, Morris Dancers and the buns!!...
Weather was kind and we sat outside the local and toasted summer....then back to mine for coffee in the garden.
