Ingleborough...

...from afar.

A long day, but fun!

After breakfast with Jimmy and Sheena, a trip to Holmfirth for a last look at our new abode before we move in. Then on to Cleckheaton to drop off the plants at Chris and Mike's. We had time for a coffee with them before going on to Elland, to sign papers at the solicitor's. Everything looks to be set for exchange and completion next Tuesday! We were both feeling peckish after that, so we bought sandwiches and celebratory cakes, and drove up on to the moors to eat lunch with a view.

The plan was to meander up through the Dales to meet Bill and Di and two of their friends in Alston for a meal. We'd got as far as Hawes - with this view of Ingleborough on the way - when Bill phoned and the plan changed. Nowhere to eat in Alston so could we get to Hexham an hour earlier than the original arrangement, as he really needed to eat by 6.30pm! So we trusted Mr Google and followed the suggested route, up the M6 to Carlisle, and across to Hexham, where we enjoyed a tasty pub meal.

Finally home, and bed. Both shattered!
