Backyard Visitor

There was a big racket in the backyard and Flash came running into the house with his tail tucked. Uh oh! I hurried outside to check things out and almost ran into a Bluejay who was flying low and screeching. Found Squiggy sniffing a Bluejay fledgling that had found its way into our yard. Mama Bluejay flew by again then settled on a tree branch nearby. I put Squiggy in the house and started herding baby bird towards the safe, dog-free yard next door. It hopped through a hole in the fence. Whew! Mama seemed happy so all is well. I found out that Bluejay's are fledglings for about five days so I'll start looking ifor them in the trees later this week.
