Duff House

A great house, pulled back from the brink of collapse or demolition, full of art and objects collected on the grand tour and other travels. 

But it is this stairway that got me. Amazing plasterwork on a lovely structure. Luckily, the two bombs that came through the cupola and straight down the stairwell during WW2 failed to explode.

(Sadly, other bombs that fell on the then east wing killed 6 German POWs and 2 guards.)
