Sign of the times

This week a new charity shop, Debra, opened in Bridge of Allan.

This makes it the third in the town after  Strathcarron hospice and the Heart and Stroke Charity.

During the past 20 years these premises have acted as a social barometer of change for the area.

It all started with the closure of the very popular second hand bookshop, which was forced to close, following the arrival of Amazon and online books.

It was replaced by an expensive hairdressers only that too closed. Then followed the wine shop.

Now it has re-opened it doors again as a charity shop.
