Rural Living...

It is May 5 and our Wifi has arrived! So..I will now attempt to backflip some more postings from our "Before WiFi" days..

Our first full day in our rental house was spent attempting to figure out all the appliances that are so different than the ones we have at home...and so far we have mastered most of them...We have not yet done a laundry and the washer looks nothing like ours at home..so that may prove to be a challenge..and the dryer is not working, so we will await a sunny day before tackling that...We are still searching for things like a kettle and a bread knife...and hoping they are just hidden and not absent...We love the house...it is more like a home than a rental cottage.. beautifully decorated and charming...the only drawback is that the wifi is not working!

We did not venture far from the house today but wandered around outdoors checking out our neighbourhood - well, there really isn't a "neighbourhood" but there are lots of fields and cows, so surely there are houses.....so far we have found one other down our one-track lane...

The landscape is amazing and the sky? It is huge! Vast! We can't wait for a dark night to see the stars...so much fun to sit and watch the clouds rolling by..and the rain coming..and then going...followed by the sunshine...wow...

We are enthralled with the wild flowers..especially the poppies in patches along the roadside and scattered in the fields; we have a whole meadow next to us.. and of course had to get our cameras out...(main) (Note for Knottman2 - rumour has it there are wild orchids in the area...)

Our next challenge will be navigating the roads and finding the sites we want to see..and that is one thing we will miss about not having wifi..checking sites, their hours, and mapping a route to them..
