Botanists at work...

The first afternoon of the BSBI Dandelion Recording weekend found a group of keen botanists scouring the grassland at Thorpe Meadows in search of species. In a couple of hours we had amassed about thirty, including many that had never been previously recorded in the area. 

John Richards, the author of the BSBI Field Handbook to British and Irish Dandelions was the co-leader, and guided us expertly through their identification, starting in the hotel garden before dinner, and then at a local village hall. Not sure how much I'll remember though!
