Nicky and her Nikon

The day started sunny and bright, and Gavin and I went for a run with Xena.  When we got back the boys were getting up. They arrived late last night and we did not see them as we were already asleep.

After breakfast we planned to go do a walk, but we switched on the TV and all got so engrossed in watching the coronation of King Charles that we did not move until lunchtime! The boys, all having studied music, and Tommy and Adam both having been choristers, loved the music and knew most of the pieces sung. They were all super impressed with the music. We were very surprised to see a good friend of Luke's in the choir at the coronation - he is a professional singer and sang at school in the choir with Adam and Tommy. I was delighted to see my favourite soprano singing today - Pretty Yende, the woman wearing the flamboyant yellow dress. We all loved the traditions and the service, and it was fun seeing all the past Prime Ministers. Britain certainly knows how to excel at pageantry! We loved that huge shire horse whose rider was beating the tympani drums, the horse kept trying to go sideways! I got a bit emotional, especially when Zadok the Priest was  played. I know many people do not support the royal family but I think they are one of the best things about Britain - I am so tired of hearing how they cost the taxpayer so much, its all rubbish as they contribute far more to the coffers than they take, not even including the added value to tourism that they generate.

After watching he coronation we went out and had a delicious lunch at Thornham Deli. After our lunch we walked from Thornham to Holme-next-the-sea, and where Gavin had fun flying his drone and showing the kids how it worked - see extras. We walked on and on and as we neared Hunstanton, we decided to walk on and get the bus back rather than return to Thornham. By the time we got on the bus we were all soaked!

Tonight is a lazy evening at home, the fire is going and we are having chilli and tacos for supper.
