Ponds and more...

Our second day of survey on an a  largely arable farm east of Peterborough. As well as ploughed fields and drainage ditches, we found a disused railway embankment full of tiny annual plants, some ponds containing stoneworts and other local fenland species and a fragment of woodland on top of the 'hill' containing some old ex-coppice Ash and Field Maple, as well as several Pedunculate Oak and a fine Ash pollard.
