La vida de Annie

Coronación de Carlos III.

#1D gave me this tin of commemoration shortbread while I was in the UK recently. I saved it until today, but felt obliged to watch the whole shenanigans first in order to deserve it. Mixed feelings about that: I do like to see the big spectacular occasions Britain does best, and the best part was the all-too-brief appearance of the Red Arrows, but today's left me a bit depressed. Charles looks old and jaded, and quite ridiculous in those silly robes. I wonder how long before his "liege man" William will be taking his place. As Prince Charles he did a lot of good in many ways, and spoke a lot of sense about conserving nature. Now he's silenced as monarch, but I hope his influence continues. After hours of fairytale golden coaches and fanfares and choral stuff and mumbo jumbo I feel like I've eaten too many sweets - it feels unpleasant on the palate. The shortbread however was delicious, food porn in fact.
