Sunbathing fly

I spent a fairly quiet afternoon today after doing the washing, shopping and sorting out the car tyres following yesterday's adventures (yep I needed 2 new tyres - the one with the puncture plus one with a bulge which John Gravett noticed before I left - its on these occasions that I am glad I have a company car!)

It has been a gloriously sunny and warm day, and the garden has been buzzing with hoverflies. So I tryed to put into practise some of things from the workshop at LPH last week I had a go at shooting them. Catching them in flight proved a near impossibility - though I got some close misses. This one came to rest on a Rhubarb leaf and was probably the sharpest of my attempts. An alternative shot on a fig can be seen here
