Still building

The new National Cathedral in Bucharest will be one of the biggest & tallest churches in the world when completed  and certainly the largest Eastern Orthodox Church  by far.  

It was consecrated in 2018 but is still not finished .  It’s final cost is likely to be over €200 million .  

It sits next to the equally imposing Palace of the People - the second largest public building on the planet and which I blipped on my last visit back in 2012 when I led the Scottish delegation to the European Higher Education Conference here.
