Owen and I finally mixed and poured the pads for the germination porch on the veg store. We had just enough cement, so will need a bit more before we can finish them to the right height.

We also prepared a strawberry patch within the area that, one day, will be the soft fruit enclosure. The mint and rose bay willow herb have really chunky root systems!

Meanwhile, Angus changed the disc and pads on his car. However, all the great minds were unable to help him disconnect the old calliper. The banjo bolt was not for shifting.

Out of the blue Sue came to visit. The pork dinner stretched to feed us all. The broiled pork could have benefited from linger in the oven, but it was a good feast, with garlic beans, caramelised carrots, pink fir apples, and a sage and apple gravy.

After dinner we sat outside as the night grew cooler. Sue drove away, Nick headed for the bothy, Angus went to bed. Owen and I watched The Long Goodbye (although Owen fell asleep pretty quickly).
