Celebration

Apologies (again) - need to catch up with your journals

No 1 - Reflecting King Charles III's views, the Coronation Service in The Minster had the central section of the nave reserved for volunteers, charities, other religious leaders and the armed forces etc from across Nottinghamshire. Judges, resplendent in their wigs also paraded in through the large West doors at the back of the church, with their historical link to The Crown. Myself and village neighbours happily sat at the side.

I bumped into an old friend on the way out - next year he'll be deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire (or perhaps Deputy High Sheriff, as his wife later mentioned).

No 2 - A village party was held at our cricket club in glorious sun. A cold reception for Mrs M from her long standing school friend, who is the partner to the defeated Tory candidate who was also present. She's also a Godparent to our son. Otherwise much fun had by all.
