Clydesdales

May is the month to see mares and foals at our local farm that sells bird seed so I wasn’t disappointed when I called in today and stopped on the way in . The roadside paddocks all had several of these majestic animals and most of the foals were stretched out on the grass like the extra with mothers never far away.

The farm is one that I used to go to before I retired from large animal work , and they don’t come much larger than a Clydesdale. It has been interesting seeing them on the recent TV series “ This farming life”. 

The mare in the blip looks like a very nice example of the breed and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was one of their prize winners at the shows.
