Sally Mair - Loving life

Safe home

Thank you for your good wishes, all went smoothly with our travel, although Dalaman airport is not my airport of choice. It's modern and everything works fine, but it is privately owned and takes full advantage of its captive market. To add insult to injury, the courtesy WiFi has been discontinued. It has been described as one of the world most expensive airports and it's irritatingly slow. Having said all that, our flight left on time and I had a row to myself. We always book seats one each side of the aisle, so Colin came over and sat at the window seat. Luggage delivery at Edinburgh was slow, don't really know why as we were the only flight coming in, however we were home an hour and 10 minutes after touchdown, at 1.55 am.
Today was spent washing and putting away. Why does it all take so long? The garden had done a lot of growing while we were away, my blip is of a corner of daffodils and tulips with the clematis beyond.
I picked Cleo up this afternoon, she was happy to be home, less happy to see Pickle though!
We treated ourselves to steak for dinner this evening, I made my mum's Diane sauce to go with it. Delicious. For pudding we had some mixed berries with meringue, a treat as we have brought some mulberries home with us - in theory for the girls to taste bit also because we like them. Hopefully there will still be some left by the time they visit.
Isobel had a ballet exam this morning, Katy sent me a picture of her looking lovely in her leotard and very proud and happy, 6 weeks till they get the results though.
Extra from yesterday of one of the mulberry trees at the hotel complete with Jay!
