Car park chic

A day in Glasgow with Megan and Angus. Megan and i leave shortly after 11, leaving Angus checking his tyre pressures.

I neglected to charge the battery last night, so plug in at Carluke park and ride, while waiting for Angus to arrive. The rain has passed and it’s warm and muggy, but there’s more rain on the way.

Angus drives us into town, where we head for this weeks A Play, a Pie, and a Pint at the Oran Mór. It’s called Quietus and is a surprisingly upbeat exploration of the right to choose to die.

Megan heads off to Collabor8te to work while Angus and I enjoy another pint. The pie/sausage roll was fine, but with time to kill before a flat viewing, we decide to indulge in a proper lunch. Ka Pao is just around the corner, and they serve up an excellent lunch, with enough for Angus to snack on later.

Out at Tollcross, we wander around the park before the viewing. It’s lovely, and there’s a council swimming pool/gym on the other side (although they have turned off their sauna/steam room due to the price of electricity).

The flat is a bit dilapidated and uninspiring, but could be fine. It definitely needs all the windows replaced. Angus has aikido this evening and I head back to Carluke by train.

The car says it has 50 miles of charge, so I chance it. In the end I crawl up the last couple of hills at 30mph and get home with the needle firmly in the red.

Not hungry, I watch Have I Got News For You before going into the dusk to reluctantly separate the chick from its mothers (yes, they’re both crowded into the same laying box on top of the chick). The two chicks have a lot to talk about, but soon settle down.
