Two Pyramids, One Sphinx, and one "Mummy"

What a day!  We arrived in Alexandria, Egypt early this morning, and almost immediately set off on a long day trip to Cairo (a three-hour drive each way) to visit the famous pyramids and the Sphinx.

I was surprised at how close they are to the city!  Almost the moment we arrived there, we were "treated" to a sand storm, which made photographing things a bit of a challenge.  We also got a good dose of sand up our noses, in our mouths and eyes, and in our hair!

We got back to the ship this evening after 9:00, and it's now 11:00 and I am ready to fall into bed.
