Chapman Square

Sitting on a bench today in Chapman Square. It was peaceful; a fresh lawn, quiet empty benches, Gingko leafing out and a tall Maple. My mind fell back to the memory of this city block during and after the 130 days of police brutality; of tear gas, fires, and clashes between police and citizens protesting the senseless murder of George Floyd.
