Wandsworth Common: Peeking Duck

Prettier plumage patterns and colours in large

Imogen's visiting a friend this weekend, so I dropped her at the tube station and headed home via Wandsworth Common. Not much going on there (no chicks yet!), so I just photographed the mallards, tufted ducks, and a wood pigeon. I was tempted just to blip the duckules at home, but I'll leave them for tomorrow's blip spot.
This in-between-y mallard drake (neither in eclipse nor full breeding plumage) caught my eye, particularly the collaged plumage patterns that he made as he preened. He might also have some domestic ancestry contributing to his strange plumage.
