The High Jump....

.....it certainly was for Jack the Robin, and now he was looking down wondering why he had bothered to volunteer for this.

It had sounded great, dive 8 feet into a bucket of water, and win yourself a weeks worth of suet, his wife had pointed it out to him, 'That'll be easy for you!'

Spurred on by this, he had entered. Thing is, when he had arrived, he had suddenly realised after all his bragging, that he was the only one to try this, that Robins don't like diving into water, he actually didn't like being wet, and not using his wings went against everything he knew.

Suddenly, ''Jack of all trades', which is what his wife had called him, made him feel an idiot.

But, his pride was at stake, oh, and being an hen-pecked husband, so he shut his eyes....

...and successfully landed, was  helped put, got a photo and certificate to confirm he'd done it, and one very happy wife, oh, and one big lesson learned - to keep his big mouth shut!
