A Royal Day

Our tour leader had heard that a local property had a pair of nesting Royal Flycatchers.  We jumped at the chance to go when he offered us the opportunity to find them.  These birds have the most spectacular crest but they only display it for a second.  We thought it was worth a try.  

The setting was deep in the rain forest and it was quite dark.  We found the nest and it wasn't long before we saw the male and the female.  We all had to push our ISO's way up and my photos were quite noisy but the new LR denoise feature worked miracles.  We never saw the crest fully displayed, but I liked this photo because you get a glimpse of it.  This is a female.  

We spent a most entertaining morning with the King Vultures.  I will have many hundreds (or perhaps thousands) of photos to go through when I get home,
