The Tongue

View up to The Tongue; the "small" hill nestling in the valley ahead. It's one of the smallest Wainwrights, only 364m. Mr P tells me even I could climb it. But not today. We were on a 10km circuit of footpaths  and small hills from Holehird Gardens . View down Windermere from one of the hills  in extras.

We were overtaken on this path by lots of runners and walkers doing The Lap race; a mere 47 hilly miles around Windermere. Good luck to them.  By coincidence one of our friends ran past and stopped to chat. He too has moved to this area from Kent. We checked the results later , he finished in 16 hours. Thats a gruelling day out.
