An Early Purple Orchid with Common Milkwort

I was delighted to spot this orchid on the side of an old ditch, possibly part of an Iron Age camp. It is called an Early Purple Orchid, Orchis mascula, and is quite often found in this part of the Cotswolds on the natural limestone grassland.

I also noticed this lovely blue plant, the Common Milkwort, growing nearby and even found a spot where I could get them both in the same picture. The dandelions were a bonus.
