PENTALUM by Architects of Air

We went to visit the Architects of Air today at the Lakeside Centre on the Nottingham University Campus. This is the second time we have visited one of their luminariums, the first time was at Skegness.

The Pentalum luminarium is a sculpture people enter to be immersed in radiant light and colour. Pentalum is inspired by the beauty of natural geometry and by Islamic architecture. It features winding passages of small domes inspired by repetitious forms found in the bazaars of Iran.

This pictures comes from the most complex part of the structure and is the roof of the central tree.
