Dirty Dozen

During the war the British Army commissioned 12 watch manufacturers to create watches to a certain specification..

These military watches are known collectively as ‘The Dirty Dozen’ they can be picked up on the vintage market but generally cost $1000’s

The specifications are available and a number of companies make homages to these 80 year old watches.

The model here is made by a company called Merkur based in China.. the quality is surprisingly good and the price is < $100 :-)
