New developments

This interesting feature appeared yesterday on the Water of Leith by the Great Junction Street bridge. I never knew that the waterside area there is known as Coalie Park. Wonder if its because there used to be a railway line there that transported coal to the sidings where the Tesco is now in Canonmills?

Anyway, it's a floating island planted up with water-loving plants to increase local biodiversity. Hope they do well and aren't trashed! Maybe the ducks will adopt it or the second one that's coming soon. Extra is of the local flyer explaining the whole project to improve the area.
