Tour

Just a couple of weeks left of the football season now, and my tour of local district level cup games continued with the final of the Huddersfield & District League Cup at Huddersfield Town’s John Smith’s Stadium.

Heywood Irish Centre (blue) emerged victorious after a 2-1 win over league champions Berry Brow (yellow), a great achievement for them having been down to ten men for the last hour of the game. 

The early kick off meant I didn’t get stranded - Transpennine Express cancelled every train east after 9.30, but I managed to get on the last but one out of town.
