Spanish moss

Spanish moss is a "epiphyte -an organism that grows on the surface of a plant and derives its moisture and nutrients from the air, rain, water (in marine environments) or from debris accumulating around it." We have a lot of Spanish moss around here in southwest Florida. It's mostly seen on Southern Live Oak trees like this one.

I think it's so enchanting and beautiful, therefore you'll find me taking lots of photos of the variety of examples I've seen here. See the extra photos for a few more!!
