Don't dive in

Mid-May and this local public outdoor swimming pool is empty, getting cleaned and maintained in readiness for the summer. It usually opens at the end of June, for two months each year. Nice to see it looking blue, with the winter's accumulated stagnant rainwater and green algae drained away.

This sports centre has another swimming pool, indoors and heated. :-). In addition, the town now boasts a second summer swimming pool, about a mile away.
