Happy World Bee Day

Celebrating the World Bee Day by watching my wild bee hive. Happy World Bee Day!

Yair Lupo says:

Today is May 20, World Bee Day

World Bee Day is an international date recognized by the United Nations and celebrated every year on May 20. The chosen date is Anton Janša's birthday, May 20, 1734. A pioneer of the beekeeping industry that deals with beekeeping and honey production. Janša was born in Slovenia in the 18th century, and was the world's first teacher of beekeeping.

How is the day celebrated around the world?

Sow wild flower seeds (from which the bees produce nectar), and grow plants in the garden that do not need a lot of water or special chemicals to grow.

Get to know the local beekeepers and learn from them about the craft of making honey.

Buy/prepare/eat honey or foods containing honey.

Read and learn about bees and other pollinators, and how we can stop the extinction of bees.

Happy Bee Day to everyone from the "Israel beekeepers" team!
