Ben Loyal

The start of the long walk in to Ben Loyal.

Ben Loyal is the biggest lump of alkaline rock in the UK. The course crystalline rock of nepheline syenite weathers like granite and has formed a dramatic castellated ridge of four dramatic tors.

It makes for a long day out in one of the remotest parts of the country.
