Kirstin and Chris’ Wedding

A sunny glade, nr Stockbridge, Hampshire.

What a truly love-filled day it was! The sun shone, the venue was beautiful, the air was filled with the scent of wisteria, and the humanist service, in which Kirstin and Chris said their own vows to each other, left not a dry eye in the house. Their were bubbles to blow (confetti not allowed) and lots of glitter from my jacket to anyone within touching distance!!

I always look forward to the speeches at a wedding and wasn’t disappointed today. Everyone spoke from the heart: David (Kirstin’s dad), the best man, Chris’ mum and then Kirstin and Chris themselves. I found it particularly touching when the celebrant talked about what they had said when asked, ‘Why do you want to get married and to each other?’

The dances in the ceilidh were expertly called, the kilts swirled, and then there was all the old wedding favourites, when people could let their hair down. I hardly sat down all night!!
