Cycling Copenhagen

For our last port, and seeing as Copenhagen is billed as the most bike friendly capital, we decided to hire cycles. For just £10 for the whole day and after a little bit of practice in a car free square , we were off! From near the university down to Nyhavn, we then headed along to the fort at Kastellet, and of course the obligatory visit to see The Little Mermaid.
Then we went all the way back round to Tivoli , via Rosenborg castle and the National Gallery.
Finally we cut across past the Hans Christian Andersen statue and Rådhus to Christiansborg castle before returning the bikes.
Lunch was a delicious Danish open sandwich, then we managed to walk through the shopping streets to Kongens Nytorv before the first rain of the whole trip!
It’s been an amazing cruise of Cultural Capitals!!!
