St Cuthbert

This is a carving of St Cuthbert seen outside a house on the trail that takes his name. We have been walking this trail for the last few days. The notice at the base of the sculpture says it was hand carved by a sculptor by the name of Tom Fiddes. Our guide book suggests it was made using a chain saw which I think would require a deft touch and strong wrists.
