If you can't beat them...

Monarch of the show.

Back when I was a year younger on paper than I am now Clickychick gave me membership of the RHS and Tickets for Chelsea Flower Show.  So here we are with the caravan on Crystal Palace Caravan site, and today was "the day".  The first day the show is open to members.

Getting from Crystal Palace to Chelsea Royal Hospital was a bit difficult.  Walk almost a mile downhill, that means a walk up at the end of the day, Train to Victoria where fortunately we were directed to a shuttle bus that took us right to the entrance.  We were fairly early so no queues.  I wasn't looking forward to the bag check given there are 5 compartments in the camera pack we were using.  Fortunately the nice lady only wanted to see inside the main compartment.

A wonderful day.  A few criticisms; not enough toilets (ladies had a queue approaching 30 every time we were there) not enough seats (plenty of palaces they could be put they just hadn't the result rows of people sitting on the roadside curbs.

The show gardens were interesting when you could get near enough to get a good look, many many plants we hadn't heard of, Orchids the like of which I have never seen etc etc.

We were extremely tired by the time we arrived back at the van.
