The Cucumber Spider And The Bluebottle Fly

This cucumber green orb spider had made its lair in a field maple leaf. I was photographing it when a bluebottle landed. The spider lunged, the fly launched.

I've included a latticed heath moth and a holly blue butterfly. In the middle at the bottom is a planthopper nymph with its waxy tail strands.
