Folkestone

Left Woebley after great weekend with Kevin for a long drive down to Folkestone for the night so we could catch an early Chunnel to France. The campsite ‘Little Switzerland” was overpriced and poor despite this view - the camper is behind the trees in the middle of the picture.
Unfortunately I think they are making money from poor souls like us who have only a few options to stay in the area and obviously it’s a popular place for an overnight stay.
The best bit though was the ‘Valiant Sailor’ Pub about 15 mins walk up an incredibly steep climb. Asking for 2 gin and tonics to be told they only had enough gin for one then offering me a double. This was followed by no jalapeños so can’t make the Quesadilla - and then magically jalapeños appearing in abundance on my loaded fries. Not house salad, no malt vinegar but we can give you balsamic vinegar for your chips. Oh and when ordering the menu item ‘Loaded Fries’. The landlady informed us that they were chips not fries! Toilets were missing a seat, soap, paper towels and the air dryer didn’t work. Still we will always have the Aviator!
