Bud Light

Today's image was taken in our back garden. This is the very first bud of the roses that grow through the middle of our winter jasmine hedge. Each year the hedge grows over the rose bush but eventually a bud pops its head above the foliage seeking out the light.
I think this shot has a rather brooding feel to it with the shimmering light in the background allowing the bud to emerge from the semi darkness.
