Looking across the water meadows

After dropping our grandson at his childminders we decided to visit Malmesbury. We had briefly visited in the winter but today we saw it at its best. It was a very warm but cloudy day and all the spring flowers were out. We wandered around looking at the amazingly old buildings including the Abbey, a decorated market cross over 500 years old with a porch for shelter see extra. The town is known as the Queen of Hilltop Towns and was originally an Iron Age fort.

We followed a route around the rivers where there was a lovely view across the water meadows with distant views of the Abbey and one of the churches.

A lovely place to visit full of history and character.
