Field of growing lambs and more.

The sunny weather continued today which was very fortunate as a friend of many years arrived yesterday for a 2 night stay and we all went to an RSPB reserve as he is a very keen bird watcher. There we watched many of the wetland birds from the hides and got great views of young geese and lapwing chicks.

After we got home I took him to see an osprey nest that not too many people know about and the blip shows the tall tree in a field of sheep and lambs. The nest is right on the top of the tree and from time to time using binoculars we saw the female’s head appearing so presumably she is sitting on eggs. 
We were treated to the sight of the male bird returning probably from a fishing trip soaring high above the nest so presumably he was not returning with a catch for his mate.
