The light was beautiful this morning and this evening. It is so nice to go for a walk and just look at the light in the woods.

Ever since US Mother's Day I've wanted to do a shout-out to mothers who endured abuse but did their best, for their children and for themselves. Today, with the death of Tina Turner, seems like a good day to do so. 

Ukraine made the Patriot air defense system look good. Apparently, Saudi Arabia has 200 Patriot launchers and sometimes cannot repulse attacks. Russia was bragging that its Kinzhal missiles were so amazing. The Patriot air defense system repelled them. 

There are two groups of Russians attacking Russia across the border from Ukraine. This is good for Ukraine because it distracts the Russian military from wherever Ukraine is going to make its counterattack. Russia said it crushed them. They let Russia know to expect more. 

The UK ministry of defence said today that Russian courts are looking at 1,053 cases of soldiers going AWOL THIS YEAR. 

Ukraine said that Russia lost 40 artillery systems in 24 hours. The Institute for the Study of War said Russia is using artillery to "offset their degraded offensive capabilities." They are losing tanks and helicopters and who knows what all.
