Poppies in the park

MrM left early for a day's fishing near Skipton.

I leapt in to action - well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration - and dealt with a lot of admin., tackled some household chores, and did a few more change of address notifications.

Walked in to Holmfirth after lunch, mainly to post our now-invalid and chopped-in-half driving licences back to DVLA. Then walked to Lidl for a couple of items, and to see how long it took to walk there. It really wasn't very far, but it was a hot afternoon and by the time I'd walked back up the hill my face was beetroot colour and I felt as though I'd climbed Everest! And fewer than 8000 steps to show for it!

MrM arrived back earlier than expected, and after we'd eaten we went for a short walk around some local footpaths. Final task of the day was to help MrM to take apart our bed. We're sleeping on the mattress on the floor tonight as the new bed is due to be delivered tomorrow morning.

Walked through the park on the way back from Holmfirth. The poppies look amazing, such vivid colours in the bright sunshine, and the alliums were quite spectacular too (extra).
