Orangutans

Started off just after 9 and headed into the jungle, across the heigh bridge and through the houses. Knackered by the time we got to the start of the national park. Saw a group of 5 orangutans one with a baby, such marvelous animals definitely a privilege to see them in their native environment. Lots of other monkeys spotted along with a jungle turtle and a peacock neither of which I had realized were native to Sumatra. We then saw a lone male which was around 25 years old
Thankfully guide decided to take us the  shorter route back as struggling a bit in the heat going up and down. Got to the pickup point for the raft which was a welcome relief, great to get soaking wet and made it back to the hotel just as the heavens opened.
A cool shower and a rest was definitely needed after 5 hours of jungle trekking along with a early night
