the language of flowers

Somebody special is arriving here tomorrow..so I have been out in my dressing gown, picking flowers for her room. This is something my own Mum does when I visit. The cornflowers remind me of the beautiful flower crown Joanna made for Sarah when she married Chris last June, and my Mum had lily of the valley in her own wedding bouquet back in 1958.

It has been such a beautiful day today that I found it difficult to drag myself back indoors. I've been outside for most of the day, from coffee in the garden to a walk up Steilston Hill with Jess, mowing some grass and doing some weeding in between. Tomorrow will be a different story as I'll be inside nearly all day long.
