Life after Burradoo, NSW

National Arboretum

We thought we knew Canberra fairly well but today we were taken by friends to visit the National Arboretum. We had never heard of it. We were bowled over by the views of Canberra and its surrounding hills/mountains. Established 10 years ago, the Arboretum now has over 44,000 rare and endangered trees across a 250-hectare site.  It is a centre of conservation, science research, education, tourism and recreation.

Clearly the people of Canberra love this place. On a very windy and cold day there were many visitors. We enjoyed watching children flying their kites in the amphitheatre which has been formed for outdoor performances.
