Common Cottongrass

Or Eriophorumm angustifolium - it’s Irish name Ceannbhán. P knows it as Bog Cotton and we saw this eye catching plant waving in the wind at Horn Head, Donegal. The web site tells me it is a native plant found in peaty soil and at one time was used to stuff pillows and mattresses.

The extras are a couple of views - one from Bloody Foreland and the other from Horn Head.
