Thistle Down

By Ethel

Father

O Yes...I am remembering,
How in life I was to share.
A kind...and loving father,
With his protecting care.

I saw his dark hair slowly turn,
To shades all silvery.
As I found my joys in childhood,
By sitting on his knee.

His eyes looked on so tenderly,
At things I tried to do.
I gained by all his counseling,
As through the years...I grew.

I was his darling daughter,
His ever-loving child.
He made my world go round and round,
In the way he always smiled.

O Yes...I do remember,
Life's loving...full of bliss.
When both my arms went round him,
To place on him...my kiss.

Father...Father...I hope you knew...that forever and ever...I Love You.
