Camassia

Had no idea what this rather lovely flower is. We mistakenly thought it was a red-hot poker as the buds developed, but obviously not! Eventually resorted to installing yet another app, for plant ID, on my phone - seems it's Camassia, native to north America. 

After lunch we went over to Jimmy and Sheena's to fetch some instruments that MrM had left with them for safe keeping. A chance to hear about their recent holiday in Scotland over coffee and banana cake, and to admire their beautiful garden  in full flower. Then on to B&Q for some more essentials, mostly security related, but the clothes prop will be very useful, as will the strong, re-usable bag for garden waste.
