Tiny Tidal Pool

For Tiny Tuesday, here is a tiny version of the tidal pool at Cellardyke. Yesterday, the old sluice pipe was opened up. A new sluice pipe and sluice gate will be added today. I don't think that many people will ever have seen the water level this low. It was low enough to uncover one of the cannons which are lurking in the depths. Some time ago, a group at the University of St Andrews placed four 19th cent. cast iron cannons in the water as part of a project to investigate the conservation of artefacts found under water. In addition, the tidal pool is a safe place in which to train marine archaeologists. The extra shows one of the cannons, the only one I saw this morning. Thanks to H0tamer for hosting.
